This awesome digital CAD/CAM technology means less time in the dental chair, less discomfort and a brilliant end results.
What is CEREC?
CEREC® is an acronym for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. This means a piece of kit that combines camera, computer and milling machine in one instrument. The special camera is used to make an accurate picture of the damaged tooth. this then displays on the computer screen, where the CAD (Computer Aided Design) technology is used to design the restoration. Then CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) takes over and cuts the restoration. Finally, we bond the new restoration to the surface of the old tooth. The whole process takes only about one hour!
